The missconniehoole <<ADVENT e-VENT>> is a 25-day long virtual Christmas countdown that started December 1st, 2015. The concept is simple: a daily-dose of festive eye-candy will be shared on Instagram in celebration of the holiday season until the 25th.

The seed of Recipe Roots cultivated accidentally, yet immediately, when I discovered a notebook tucked away inside my grandmother's kitchen bench. Its pages, scribbled in ink and pencil, in English and Cyrillic, were full of recipes, dates and annotations. I wondered if there were more, and sure enough, there was. What I found sandwiched in-between old cookbooks, photo albums, personal belongings, nooks and crannies would become a personal exploration of what it truly means to be part of the family.
